Pregnancy and birth pelvic health survey
People who have been pregnant or had a baby in Lincolnshire in the past two years can share their experiences of the pelvic health care they received and help to shape the future of care in the county.
HWLincs is working with Better Births Lincolnshire and NHS Lincolnshire ICB to collect people’s experiences of pelvic health around pregnancy. The feedback will directly inform the new Perinatal Pelvic Health service.
Pelvic health issues are wide ranging. The survey gives people the chance to share what they were told at the time of pregnancy and birth, as well as what they wish they knew about potential problems and how this affected them.
Pelvic health problems post pregnancy can include leaking of urine or poo, prolapse, “tummy gap” (diastasis of rectus abdominis muscle), pain during sex and lower back pain.
Better Births Lincolnshire want an open and honest discussion around these issues, so have chosen “Let’s talk vaginas” as the tagline for the survey. By sharing their experiences, both good or bad, vital information will be provided to the Local Maternity and Neonatal System (LMNS) to guide the development of the new Perinatal Pelvic Health service.
This survey continues the collaboration between HWLincs and Better Births Lincolnshire. Earlier this year, HWLincs collected the infant feeding experiences of almost 900 people and their feedback has already helped to shape the service for future parents.
