This HWLincs project has been funded through the Cancer Related Health Inequalities Grant, coordinated by LVET, with the aim of better supporting carers of people living with cancer, as well as individuals who are managing their own cancer diagnosis while also caring for others.
Carers play a vital role in supporting people affected by cancer, yet their own needs are often overlooked. This project recognises the additional challenges faced by carers, particularly when navigating complex health and care systems, accessing reliable information, and finding the right support at the right time.
To ensure this work is grounded in real experiences, HWLincs has engaged extensively with carers and people affected by cancer across Lincolnshire. Through conversations, feedback, and shared experiences, we have gained valuable insight into the barriers people face, the gaps in support, and what would make a meaningful difference.
As a result of this engagement, we have developed a dedicated resource designed to help carers easily access relevant information, services, and support available across Lincolnshire. This resource aims to empower carers, improve awareness of available help, and ultimately contribute to reducing health inequalities for those affected by cancer.
